Creating a Supportive and Inclusive School
At Armstrong Creek School we believe that a Positive Climate for Learning drives all of our community engagements. We believe in building positive parent partnerships where the school community works together, and where student voice and agency are understood as inter-related factors that contribute to a productive and inclusive school culture for adults and students.
Armstrong Creek School is a safe, supportive and inclusive school which celebrates, respects and protects diversity and understanding of others, acknowledging the right of every child, no matter their background or ability, to achieve the best possible outcomes at school. We use social and emotional learning approaches to develop students’ self-management and awareness, empathy and relationship skills through School Wide Positive Behaviour Support as well as Respectful Relationships.
Our School Wide Expectation Matrix, which has been aligned with our school values, drives our school communities’ expected behaviours. This has been developed in consultation with staff, students and parents.
